Skin Care Ingredient Spotlight: Copper Peptide

16 Sep

For the next week, I am going to be highlighting some of the most cutting edge and effective ingredients in skin care. If you want to be a smart skin care shopper, you need to understand the key active ingredients that are proven to produce results. My first ingredient spotlight is Copper Peptide, a relatively new but scientifically proven and extremely effective skin regeneration treatment.

Copper peptide is now being referred to as the most effective skin regeneration product, even though it’s only been on the market since 1997. Here’s why: Studies have shown that copper peptide promotes collagen and elastin production (read: firmer skin), and also acts as an extremely potent antioxidant. Studies have also shown that copper-dependent enzymes increase the benefits of the body’s natural tissue building processes. The substance helps to firm, smooth, and soften skin, doing it in less time than most other anti-aging skin care products. Clinical studies have found that copper peptides also help speed skin healing, as they remove damaged skin and scar tissue by accelerating the skin’s system responsible for those functions.

Many years ago I began using Copper Peptides on my skin laser and peeling clients. Over time I began to see that that it was also effective at dramatically firming the skin as well. Because i’ve been so impressed with the results, I recently launched a new Copper Peptide Serum. You can read about it here.
